Every small to medium sized community wants – and needs – people to shop in their local stores, especially around holiday time.
Getting those dollars spent in their businesses ensures their survival just as much as the long-term viability of the community.
However, just as important as that spending is, it becomes just as important that those businesses carry what shoppers want.
Granted, it isn’t realistic for stores in smaller communities to offer everything people might want. Yet, they need to make the effort to find out what people would like to see more available and at what price they would be willing to pay.
And if the stores can bring that product or service to people at a price that is competitive compared to the expense in time and money to go somewhere else, then most people are more likely to support local businesses – especially for those that are not able to travel, but would like a better selection of items.
So, it’s a two-way street. The people spend their money locally and those businesses are better able to provide and serve the public with what they want. Now, go do some shopping.
