It’s not another referendum question, political poll or charity, this time its some pretty good local athletes that could use some fans to boost their spirits.
First up are the young cross country skiers that will be attending the Aspen View regional races today for students ranging from Grades 1 to 7. If you have a chance, the races start at 3 p.m. and everyone is encouraged to come out and cheer on the skiers.
Next is the EPC senior girls basketball squad, who are hosting the zone playoff tournament Friday and Saturday, with a berth in the provincial championship up for grabs. This brand of hoops has been very competitive all season and if you are a round ball fan, this will fit the bill.
Lastly, Athabasca’s Midget Hawks hockey team has reached the league final after a convincing semifinal series victory on the weekend. While exact dates haven’t been set, the final will start here, so keep an eye out, as it’s the best brand of hockey out this way.
