Showing we care

While it shouldn’t be this way, it is at this time of the year that some in society feel the need to give back and provide some assistance to those that either aren’t as fortunate or never really had things easy in their lives.

While it shouldn’t be this way, it is at this time of the year that some in society feel the need to give back and provide some assistance to those that either aren’t as fortunate or never really had things easy in their lives.

For those that receive these gifts – food, toys, items they need to survive – it is always appreciated. For those that give, most never know how much it helps.

However, there is a chance to change that and know how it feels.

In our area right now, the Good Samaritan Food Bank has a list of people and families that will be looking for one of 1,700 hampers to help them get through the holiday season.

And due to some circumstances, they have enough supplies available to make up only 300 hampers at the moment.

But I need to know how to donate, you say?

That’s the easy part.

You can donate food at each local grocery store as well as show up this Friday and help fill up the Athabasca Fire Department’s rescue truck.

They will be accepting all food donations as well as cash.

And while the need for food and items to survive is a year-round necessity for some, if you can make the effort now – please be generous.
