Dozens of skateboarders, bikers, even rollerbladers utilize the equipment each year, spending their summers practicing their jumps and tricks and spending time with peers.

A group of youth voiced their concern about the state of the facility last summer, saying the equipment wasn’t properly cared for.

The equipment, which is now sitting beside the curling rink where the old tennis courts used to be, is waiting for some tender loving care.

A good power wash and paint job is exactly what the park needs, and is just what it’s going to get

The Parks and Recreation department has scheduled a work bee for May 3.

Not only that, staff members are calling out to youth in the community to help with the revitalization of the park.

Parks and Recreation director Sue Keenan believes if local youth put in the effort to improve the facility with their own hands, they will be less likely to cause damage like grafitti.

Who better to put in the effort to clean up the facility than those who are going to use and appreciate it most?
