It has been wonderful to see the growing participation in soccer in Barrhead over the last several years.
Barrhead Minor Soccer now boasts an enrollment of 292 boys and girls, playing on 36 teams!
“Communities for Children,” a coalition of community members working to support families of young children (ages 0-5) is encouraged to see that this year, 3-year-olds will be among those on the pitch for the first time this spring.
We all know that the quality of children’s early experiences has an impact on their development and ultimately on their future success, behaviour, and over-all well being. Active children are healthy children.
We acknowledge and thank the Barrhead Minor Soccer Association board members who have accepted the challenge of drawing up schedules and rosters and finding coaches for all of these eager athletes And to those of you have volunteered to coach – have some fun and know that you are playing a part in encouraging your team members to get active, learn some skills and continue on to participate in future sporting activities!
