Dear Editor

Re: Barrhead Healthcare Centre

Last week while a friend spent a week in the Acute Care Ward of the hospital, I spent six to seven hours a day at the hospital visiting. I was present at some point during the morning, afternoon and evening and was there to observe the staff (Doctors, nurses, housekeeping, food services, etc).

Not only did the staff appear to get along with one another but it seemed that everyone was genuinely happy to be at work. The care that they showed, not only to my friend, but the other the patients was exceptional. From my observations, the patients were treated with respect, compassion, care and dignity.

I felt that this should not go unnoticed and that all staff should be commended for providing this degree of service, especially given the difficult work environment and stress that they sometime endure.

Thank you to the staff for making a difference in the care of each and every patient, it is appreciated.

Sincerely,

Carrie Durocher
