As much as the Advocate enjoys printing local commentary in the Letters to the Editor section, once we receive a critical mass of letters on a particular subject, it’s tough not to think: shouldn’t this move beyond the letters page and into an organized discussion?
It’s high time some sort of public forum be held regarding the new school/library/pool so community members can address their ideas and concerns directly to municipal leaders and the school board.
The deadline for filing an initial memorandum of understanding with the province has passed; surely the new school steering committee can now turn its attention to those who may not be in government but who have put no less time and thought into what a new school/community complex could look like. Much has been said about how inclusive of the community the new school will be; now is the time to show it.
