Dear Editor
I would like to express the gratitude I have for the Barrhead Community. I was fortunate enough this holiday season as an employee with FCSS to work very closely with individual volunteers, organizations and agencies to help make the season merry for many who would be without. There was much excitement and willingness to help whether on lunch break, after work or school or from those who included helping in their daily schedule. From organizations and agencies who supported using their own space to promote and from the daily surprises from individuals and groups who dropped off money or bags and boxes of donations.
Santa’s Toy Box provided 47 families, giving 99 children gifts this Christmas. 19 families were adopted by other organizations or individuals including 49 children and FCSS gave 81 families Christmas Hampers. Well over 6,000 lbs. of food and numerous monetary donations were collected for the Food Bank in the month of December.
I have much appreciation for all who helped this holiday season. Happy New Year to everyone and I am looking forward to another successful year.
Yours truly,
Robin Kapler
