Three weeks ago we received a letter from Elaine Visser describing a disturbing incident at the Wildrose Rodeo in which a little girl suffered a broken femur. It was reported that a woman holding the child slipped and fell hard while descending the unrailed staircase on the east side of the Agrena. Apparently she pinned the little girl’s leg underneath her after falling backwards on the concrete steps.
According to Visser, none of the the EMTs in the area would come to the pain-wracked child’s assistance. It appears five EMTs outside were tending to someone with breathing difficulties, while those inside said they were tasked with looking out for rodeo competitors.
Understandably, Visser asked for a response from EMT personnel to get some assurance that the episode will not be repeated. So far her request has gone unanswered.
The silence has become deafening.
