Dear Editor,
I read with much interest your article in the previous edition of your paper regarding “call for transport system to help seniors”. I am the spouse of a disabled senior who has been a resident of Keir Care for the past year. We, too, are in a dilemma as to wheelchair accessible transportation for even local medical appointments. My husband has expressed several times, tearfully, how wonderful it would be just to be able to come home and sit in the backyard for just a couple of hours again, he will be 90 years young early next year. Being there is no such vehicle in this town that I can hire, I am at a loss to explain to him that I cannot bring him home at this time due to transportation concerns. Are there others out there in this same situation? If so, please feel free to get in touch with me . . . maybe together we can make a difference. Thank you for your attention to my plea.
