Unrealistic legislation

Dear Editor, The Provincial Government is mandating two baths a week for residents of long term healthcare facilities.

Dear Editor,

The Provincial Government is mandating two baths a week for residents of long term healthcare facilities. How is this to be done?

Two baths a week (which should be the minimum at least) is expected to be implemented within the “existing budget” of long term healthcare facilities. How is this government decree to be implemented when budgets are already tight and staff is stretched to the limit? It must be nice for our goverment representatives and bureaucrats who sit in their board rooms to issue such unrealistic legislation when they themselves do not have to walk the walk! Hopefully Albertans who have residents in such facilities will take their well justified anger (when two baths a week prove impossible) out on the govenment officials responsible such as; Fred Horne, Minister of Health; George Vanderburg, Minister of Seniors and the MLA’s, instead of the front line workers who are doing their best under trying circumstances.
