We want to be a part of Barrhead!

Dear Editor, Your home is your safe haven. The place you relax and can let all your troubles go. A place to raise your kids, have thanksgiving dinner with your family, and cry in private when the world is on your shoulders.

Dear Editor,

Your home is your safe haven. The place you relax and can let all your troubles go. A place to raise your kids, have thanksgiving dinner with your family, and cry in private when the world is on your shoulders. You connect with your neighbours and become a little family within your community.

Now what if you came home one day and this was all ripped away from you.

This has just happened to the little family community of the Barrhead Trailer Court. When arriving home Monday October 1, everyone’s lives who are intertwined in the trailer court was changed.

We were all given notice that within the next 24 months our little family community will become a new active senior’s community. Everyone who does not fall into the new regulations must take their home and leave.

Leave where? Over 36 homes now have to be moved. This includes single people, couples, and yes, young families. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve lived here. It doesn’t matter if you pay your lot rental every month with no problems. No complaints? Well that doesn’t matter either. As long as you’re under 60 you’re out.

So now we ask, where do we go?

Yes, we understand Barrhead is a senior community and we all respect that. But does that mean the rest of us get left in the dust?

We now have to up root up our babies, our children, and our homes without knowing what to do or where to go. It’s honestly hard enough to find a home in Barrhead where you can raise your children without having the one you currently live in ripped out from under you.

So all of us are asking Barrhead for help!

Imagine you were in this situation.

We want to keep our homes! We want to keep our children’s homes! We want to keep our family here! We want to stay and be a part of Barrhead!
