Chronic conditions, also known as chronic diseases, are long-term health conditions that persist for an extended period and often require ongoing medical management. Unlike acute conditions that may have a sudden onset and resolve relatively quickly, chronic conditions typically last for months or years and may have a significant impact on a person’s quality of life. These conditions often necessitate continuous medical care, lifestyle adjustments, and self-management.

Minor ailments, also known as common or self-limiting conditions, are health issues that are generally uncomplicated and do not typically require the attention of a healthcare professional for diagnosis and treatment. Many minor ailments can be managed effectively with over-the-counter (OTC) medications or simple home remedies. While these conditions are not usually serious, they can still cause discomfort and inconvenience.

At Barrhead Pharmacy & Homehealth, pharmacists can perform assessments for refills of prescriptions and provide ongoing monitoring, education and care plans for those with conditions such as asthma, diabetes, COPD, heart disease, high blood pressure and much more. Visit us March 15, 2024 for our Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting at 10 a.m. followed by an Open House until 5 p.m. and we can show you our new home and what we do!
