Once again, both Athabasca and Boyle will be represented at minor hockey provincial championships this year.
The local area seems to be spoiled for gifted young hockey players. With teams qualifying for the championships every season, it may be easy for locals to forget that making it that far is quite a task. Both the Peewee Athabasca Hawks and the Midget Boyle Blazers had to eliminate a number of teams that wanted to make it to provincials just as badly.
There are certainly no shortage of villages, towns and cities throughout Alberta that wonít be represented at the championships, and not for lack of trying.
There are only so many spots to go around, and only the teams that can truly rise to the occasion earn them.
As the young local hockey players head to their competitions this weekend, we wish them luck and hope their trips are successful and memorable.
