Your Monday to-do list

Mondays get a bad rap. They’re the subject of gloomy songs and mopey remarks around the water cooler. But next Monday can be different.

Mondays get a bad rap. They’re the subject of gloomy songs and mopey remarks around the water cooler.

But next Monday can be different.

For starters, why not set the alarm early and partake in that great democratic highlight we call an election? Sure, it involves standing in a line, digging up the proper ID and finding parking by your polling station. But it’s also one of the few times when you can say you made your political views known and felt, however anonymously.

Polls are open from 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., so if you’re not an early riser, you’ve got plenty of time to vote after work, too.

Once you’ve cast your ballot, why not head down to the riverfront and take in the first night of Magnificent River Rats performances? You can make your views known again — this time through applause, fancy footwork and even hoots and hollers.

Who says Mondays have to be bleak?
