To the Editor, On April 20, many parents attended the public forum listening to the superintendent stress that the attendance area proposal wasn’t decided upon yet. I’m sorry, but that is a farce.

It was a tumultuous week at Westlock County with reports of a physical altercation between councillors at an April meeting.

Putting out a newspaper, weekly or otherwise is a complicated matter. On a daily basis, the editorial, advertising and production teams, work separately, come together to put together the product that you see in front of you.

In a perfect world, the end is painless and it comes in our sleep. In reality however, rarely is that true.

The Town of Athabascaís council has degraded to a point where there is a total lack of respect, decorum and maturity.

Another mainstay of the community, Champion Feed Services, is officially closing its doors in May.

A few months ago I quoted former premier Jim Prentice, saying ‘Math is Hard’ in a column called, Postmedia’s Class of 2016 - the mass layoff of 90 journalists on Jan. 19.

Back in the fall, Pembina Hills trustees committed to reviewing its attendance areas, the first time such a review has occurred in two decades since the division was formed Jan. 1, 2015.

Should Barrhead town councillors get what amounts to be a clothing subsidy? That is the question Barrhead town councillors debated last week. After all was said and done the answer was yes.

This community continues to impress me.
