Athabasca County’s 2025 budget planning process is underway! The annual budget is the most important document that Council passes each year, and we want to hear from you! From now until September 27th, Athabasca County residents can share their opinions on how the 2025 budget should be spent. Your voice matters. Help shape Athabasca County’s future by sharing your thoughts on the 2025 budget. Through our short online survey, you can share how you feel the next County budget should reflect the needs and priorities of the community. Results will be presented during budget deliberations. 2025 Budget Survey Residential Snowplowing Program Plan ahead and register for the County’s new Residential Snowplowing Program. This updated program removes the need for displaying flags during each snow event. Applications are good for one (1) winter season and covers snow clearing from private lanes/driveways for rural Athabasca County residents for the entirety of the season. A fee of $200.00 + applicable taxes must be paid upon application. Applications close on September 30th, 2024. Visit Athabascacounty.com for more information on the program.

Public Hearing for Bylaw 016-2024 on September 26th, 2024 In accordance with the requirements of Section 606 of the Municipal Government Act, as amended, the Council of Athabasca County has scheduled a Public Hearing for September 26, 2024, starting at 9:30 a.m. THE PUBLIC HEARING IS BEING HELD TO ALLOW PUBLIC INPUT ON THE FOLLOWING BYLAW: Bylaw 016-2024 -The proposed bylaw amends Land Use Bylaw 004-2019 as follows: The Land Use District Map is hereby amended by changing Lot 4, Block 1, Plan 1123795 within NE 19-71-16 W4M from Agriculture (A) District to Campground Commercial (CS) District.
