FIRE BAN IN EFFECT PUBLIC NOTICE TO ELECTORS OF WESTLOCK COUNTY,
PROVINCE OF ALBERTA
Borrowing Bylaw No. 70-2025
Section 251 - Municipal Government Act
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of Westlock County, in the Province of Alberta, has given first
reading to borrowing Bylaw No. 70-2025, which will, upon final passage and approval, authorize
the proper officers of Westlock County to borrow certain sums of money from ScotiaBank,
enacting an bank account overdraft or line of credit as may be necessary to meet the operating
and capital obligations of the County.
NOW THEREFORE NOTICE is hereby given by the Council of Westlock County that unless a
petition of the electors for a vote on Bylaw No. 70-2025 is demanded as provided for by the
terms of Section 231 of the Municipal Government Act, the said Council may pass the said
borrowing bylaw. The deadline for filing a petition with the County is July 7, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.
M.S.T. Information regarding petition procedures can be obtained from the County. Second
and Third Readings of Bylaw No. 70-2025 are scheduled to take place at the July 8, 2025,
Regular Council Meeting commencing at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers at the Westlock
County Administration Office.
Two options are available to view the proposed bylaw:

2. In-person: Westlock County Administration Office, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday

Mailing of Combined Assessment and Tax Notices 2025
Notice is hereby given that the combined assessment and tax notices have been mailed on
May 14, 2025 to all property owners in Westlock County in accordance with Section 333 of the
Municipal Government Act, being Chapter M-26, R.S.A. 2000. All persons are deemed to have
received their combined assessment and tax notices as a result of the publication of this notice.
Any person wishing to make a complaint about any assessment must do so in accordance with
Section 460 of the Municipal Government Act. The complaint must be in writing.
The complaint must be filed using the Government of Alberta “Assessment Review Board
complaint Form” (number LGS1402) which may be obtained at the County Office or may be
downloaded from: http://www.municipalaffairs.alberta.ca/documents/as/LGS1402.pdf
Complaints must be addressed to the:
Clerk of the Assessment Review Board, Westlock County
10336 – 106 Street, Westlock, Alberta T7P 2G1 and must be received in this office no later
than Monday, July 21, 2025
There is no right to make a complaint about any tax rate.
Taxes are due and payable on or before Monday, June 30, 2025. Please allow sufficient time
for your payment to arrive.
If taxes are to be paid as part of mortgage arrangements and in order to avoid any penalty
charges, it is vitally important to ensure that this payment has been made prior to the due date
by checking with your lending institution.
It is very important that your mailing address be kept current both at Westlock County and at
Land Titles Office to ensure that you receive all notices with regard to your property.

This Notice also serves as certification under Section 336(1) of the MGA that Tax Notices have
been sent on the 14th day of May 2025.
