NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING As per the Municipal Government Act, Council is required to hold a public hearing as part of the process to approve or amend a land use bylaw or other statutory plans. The purpose is to receive comments on or related to the proposed Land Use Bylaw changes prior to adoption. You are encouraged to submit your comments in writing to Administration prior to the hearing. Written submissions which have been received before the designated meeting time will be included in the report for the Public Hearing. SCHEDULED PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING PROPOSED BYLAW 05-25 The public hearing is scheduled for Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the beginning of the regular meeting, which follows the Annual General Meeting. AGM Start Time: 10:30 a.m. regular meeting to follow. Location: Boyle Seniors Centre, 4800 Third Street South Bylaw No. 05-25 proposes to amend Land Use Bylaw 03-23 Bylaw and Additional Information Summer Village of Mewatha Beach Land Use Bylaw Amendment 05-25 Changes to Section 5.14 d) Where more than one recreational vehicle is to be maintained on a parcel for more than 21 consecutive days it shall require a development permit and shall be located in a manner satisfactory to the Development Officer. Permits shall not be issued for more than one recreational vehicle per developed parcel or two recreational vehicles per vacant parcel. e) Notwithstanding 5.14 (b) and 5.14 (c), up to two additional recreational vehicles (Max 4) may be allowed if a development permit is applied for and a fee for the third be charged 200/year and a fee for the fourth be charged 300/year. The Development Authority will ensure that maximum site coverage is not over 35% of lot size. Adding Section 8 Compliance & Enforcement A Public Hearing regarding the proposed bylaw will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, following the AGM which starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Boyle Seniors Centre (4800 3rd St South). The style of the hearing will be structured and person(s) wishing to speak will be requested to sign in and state their name and address for the record upon being recognized by the Chair. Council will hear submissions made in person or by the agent from any person who claims to be affected by the proposed bylaw. Any person wishing to submit written comments may do so by sending them to the Summer Village of Mewatha, at the address below. Comments received prior to 4:00 p.m. on June 20, 2025, will be included in the staff report to Council and comments received after will be read at the public hearing. Persons may make oral presentations at the Council meeting, regardless of whether or not they have provided written comments. The public may attend and participate in the public hearing electronically via Zoom.
