Municipal Development Plan Bylaw 2024-16

What is the Municipal Development Plan?
Developed using input from the community as well as in consideration of changes to the Town’s population, development constraints, and strategic goals, the purpose of this new (draft) Municipal Development Plan (MDP) is to guide future development in the town over the next 20 years and provide policy direction on topics including economic development, housing, emergency management, and the environment. The existing MDP, Bylaw 2015-03 including all amendments, would be repealed upon adoption of the new plan.
The proposed Bylaw, a highlight video and summary one-pager are also available on our website at www.westlock.ca/p/mdp-refresh. Alternatively, the proposed Bylaw may be 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
A Public Hearing will be held to provide an opportunity for members of the public to speak to Council on the proposed bylaw commencing at 6:30 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2024, at Council Chambers (Heritage Building, 10003 100 Avenue, Westlock). Electronic attendance will also be available via Zoom – connection details will be made available on the Town’s website prior to the hearing at www.westlock.ca/p/events-calendar.
Written submissions are highly encouraged and may be provided to Council during the Public Hearing, however, it is requested that a copy of the written submission be delivered to that each member of Council has a copy of the written submission for the Public Hearing.
Speaking at the Public Hearing: Members of the public who wish to address Council are encouraged to register in advance by 4:30 p.m., October 28. This helps ensure you will be time permits.
Presentation Time: Each presenter will be allotted 5 minutes maximum to speak. The names of persons providing comments will become part of the public record.
