Assessment & Property Taxes:
PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice of Mailing
County of Barrhead hereby gives notice that the 2025 Combined Assessment & Property Tax Notices were mailed May 12, 2025.
Didn't Receive Your Tax Notice?
As per the Municipal Government Act (MGA), tax notices are mailed to the landowners listed on title at the time of mailing. Recent property transfers must be registered at Land Titles, which may affect receipt of tax notices. Please note that:
• Tax notices are considered received 7 days after mailing (MGA Section 337)
• Non-receipt of your property tax notice does not exempt you from late payment penalties.
• Landowners are still responsible to pay property taxes, even if they did not receive a copy of their 2025 Combined Assessment & Property Tax Notice.
Recently Purchased or Changed Address?
Before the County can update property tax records, information changes must be registered at Land Titles. This includes new owners or changes to mailing address for a property. Contact the County of Barrhead office at 780-674-3331 for more information on updating records.
Assessment Complaints:
MGA Section 460 allows any assessed person to file a written complaint regarding incorrect information on their assessment notice. If you believe your assessment notice is inaccurate:
1. Please contact the County Assessor at 780-674-3331.
2. If you and the Assessor cannot come to an agreement, you may submit a formal complaint.
