“Coming to Banff National Park and some of our iconic spots will still look the same – the mountains are still the mountains and the beautiful places are still the beautiful places – just the way that we visit them is changing.”

“First and foremost, this is about public safety and trying to ensure we don’t get a spread of COVID in our community. But we need to understand we have businesses that are hanging on by thread and we need to do everything we can," said Mayor Karen Sorensen.

“We’re going to do full necropsies on these animals that we’ve euthanized to make sure it’s not some disease issue … but right now, we assume it’s starvation."
