Westlock County council approved a new fee schedule for the Westlock Municipal Library, which would substantially increase the rate for non-residents.

A man ended up in Westlock Hospital and was later airlifted to Edmonton after his truck collided with another pickup truck northeast of Westlock last week. The collision occurred at roughly 4 p.m.

Westlock RCMP have charged a Westlock youth in connection with the spree of downtown break-ins over the last two months. The 15-year-old male was charged on Feb.

Barrhead residents, as well as other residents of the Barrhead-Morinville-Westlock riding, had the chance to meet and mingle with Wildrose Alliance leader Danielle Smith at the Seniors Drop In Centre Feb. 21.

Five Westlock residents have been arrested after police busted an alleged drug-trafficking network operating in Westlock and St. Albert. Two St. Albert men were also arrested in the raids, which targeted three homes in Westlock and one in St.

Residents will pay the same fee, whether they are from the town or county, to use the Westlock Rotary Spirit Centre when its doors open in May.

Alberta Health Services and the union representing about 60 support staff who walked off the job at the Westlock hospital last week have agreed to binding arbitration.

The most recent provincial budget has been both lauded as the fulfillment of premier Alison Redford’s leadership campaign promises, and criticized as showing too little in the way of fiscal restraint.

A byelection to fill the vacant Westlock seat at the Pembina Hills board table, held by the late Doug Fleming, is slated for March 26.

After just a year and a half on the job, Clyde CAO Melanie Beastall will leave the village for greener pastures. She declined last week to elaborate on her intentions, since her resignation has yet to be formally accepted by the village council.
