CLYDE – The Village of Clyde passed amendments to its Land Use Bylaw (LUB) following a public hearing on Oct. 21 to provide better clarity for future development.
No one voiced any concerns at the public hearing. Nor did the village receive any written submissions.
The amendments addressed definitions, types of development, as well as permissible use clauses and notifications.
Jaye Parrent, chief administrative officer for the village, previously said that the amendments will more clearly define dwelling, apartments to meet the standard definition of a structure that has a shared access to the outside and interior access to each unit. The previous definition in the village’s LUB, required that a building with more than five units be called an apartment building.
The amendments moved duplexes, fourplexes and row housing to permitted use.
The amendments also addressed the maximum building height for duplexes, fourplexes, row housing and stacked row housing. In addition, it addressed maximum density, and minimum lot size for stacked row housing.
