No charges have been laid in the two highway collisions that left two men dead two weeks ago, but police continue to investigate.

Westlock RCMP Staff Sgt. Dwayne Rawson said he does not anticipate charges will be laid in relation to the Jan. 15 collision on Highway 44 near Jarvie, where one man was struck and killed by a grain truck that had been blown off the road.

“Due to the factors there, I don’t, right now, see any charges coming,” he said.

However, Rawson said the incident is still being investigated. Some reports, such as that from the collision analyst, still remain to be filed, and as such he couldn’t say for certain charges would not be laid.

Speaking of the Jan. 13 collision that saw one man killed and another sent to hospital after they were struck by a truck that swerved to avoid a tow truck, Rawson said he could not speculate on charges as the incident remains under investigation.

In both collisions, names of those involved have not been released.
