RCMP have joined a manhunt for a missing Westlock man and are asking for the public’s assistance.

Bob Wilkins, 66, was last seen by his family Monday, July 25, though an RCMP investigation confirmed he was last seen July 26 at a store in Westlock.

Wilkins is caucasian, six feet tall with thinning grey hair, blue eyes and weighs approximately 250 pounds.

He is thought to have been driving a white 2006 Chevrolet Silverado with Alberta licence plate ZNX 588 at the time of his disappearance.

Family members filed a missing person report with local RCMP July 26.

His family says he is an avid outdoor explorer and familiar with many back country roads and trails throughout Westlock County.

A former beekeeper, he has been known to travel to Flatbush, Bouchard Lake and areas of Barrhead County in his spare time.

An anonymous family member said she last saw Wilkins at home 8:30 a.m. July 25.

When she returned later that afternoon, both he and his truck were missing.

She said Wilkins had intended to go to the Westlock Healthcare Centre for blood work.

She said it’s also possible he arrived at the centre, grew impatient and went for a drive.

Wilkins is a diabetic and left his medication at home when he disappeared.

Westlock detachment Staff Sgt. Dwayne Rawson said officers are currently looking for Wilkins.

Anyone who has seen him, his vehicle or who has information related to his whereabouts is asked to contact the Westlock RCMP detachment at 780-349-4491.
