WESTLOCK – Following a preliminary hearing Sept. 4, a man has been committed to stand trial on four sex charges against a youth.
The trial for the accused has been scheduled for Nov. 1 in Westlock Court of Justice. Crown Prosecutor Mark Facundo called one witness, the alleged victim, to the stand.
The man, who can’t be identified due to a court ordered publication ban on any information that would identify the victim, initially faced six charges. He will stand trial on four charges, including sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, sexual exploitation and assault. One charge each of sexual assault and sexual interference were withdrawn.
