The Westlock Golf Club hosted their annual par 3 fundraiser on Aug. 23 to raise money for golf club maintenance and upgrades.
The tournament was filled to the max with 27 teams and 108 players.
Each hole was switched to a par 3 with $10,000 on the line for a hole-in-one.
For the second year in a row, $10,000 was secured as Darren Broesky from Total Plumbing and Heating hit a hole-in-one on hole 9.
Team Westlock Motors, featuring Brady Ducharme, John Foster, Kolbe Waldner and Matt Hutchings, were the tournament winners.
The Westlock Golf Club is hoping to use the money raised for a new, environmentally friendly reservoir system to hold more water. The golf club has a tough year keeping its greens properly maintained due to the low rainfall during the spring and summer months and a new reservoir or reservoir extension would help with.
Money for the proposed project was raised through tournament entry fees and golf club sponsors who sponsored each hole during the tournament.
The golf club hosts the par 3 fundraiser annually to help with course maintenance and upgrades and also received a grant of $11,150 from the Westlock Community Foundation as part of their community grants program.
The Westlock Golf Club opened a new clubhouse in 2021 and have also recently upgraded a renovation of the RV campsite near the course.
