Westlock County will renew its contract with the provincial government to provide an enhanced RCMP position at a cost of about $148,000 per year.

The vacant Westlock County CAO position will be advertised this week, roughly two months after the former CAO left his post.

Charges have been laid against the former head of the Westlock Child Care Society. Former daycare executive director Roxanne Gilmar, 54, has been charged with one count of theft over $5,000 and one count of fraud over $5,000.

An organizational review of Westlock County, while now somewhat outdated, still has a lot of relevance to county operations, interim CAO Rick McDonald says.
