PEACE RIVER — Boyle Sr. Girls volleyball team is hoping for success in their first provincial playoff match after three round robin losses during the 2023 1A provincials in Peace River running Nov. 23-25.

The Huskies faced off against their neighbours from École Plamondon on Thursday, Nov. 23. After a close three-set match, École Plamondon came out on top, with a final score of 15-11. A second Thursday match saw the Huskies go up against Bassano — Boyle’s girls succumbed in the second set with a score of 25-22.

A mid-morning Friday match pitted the Huskies against St. Thomas More, and after a hard-fought three sets, Boyle’s girls walked away with another loss, clocking nine points to St. Thomas More’s 15.

The Huskies battled their way to provincials with an impressive record during the regular season, suffering only one loss in the final rounds of a tournament in Lac La Biche. The girls swept the North Central zones tournament held on home court Nov. 17-18, winning every game and securing their place in provincials.

Despite the results so far this weekend, students and staff at Boyle School continue to rally around the Sr. Girls team.

Tune in to watch the Huskies face off against Provost in the first round of playoff matches scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
