Athabasca RCMP continue to investigate a series of break and enters out in the Calling Lake area.
Cpl. Ty Roddick-Ament said the first reports began to come in over the last couple of weeks.
“The incidents remain under investigation,” said Roddick-Ament. “At this time, we are still linking up when each event took place, in order to find out which of these crimes have similar crimes.”
According to a press release, each offence occurred sometime between the last week of April and the first week of May. Several cabins on Highway 813 and on Calling Lake Drive were broken into, with similar characteristics being noted by investigators.
“In each case, some mischief was initiated to aid in the theft,” Roddick-Ament said. “As for the stolen items, the owners have not identified all of which was stolen as of yet. One item that was stolen was a red 2009 Arctic Cat 2 UP ATV.”
The release said that in some common cases, the power cords were unplugged and/or damaged, with security cameras and main power meters removed and/or damaged.
Roddick-Ament said that more information will be released as it comes in.
“We appreciate it when members of the public phone in with information that helps us solve each case,” he said. “Because the more information we have, the better chance there is to catch each suspect involved.”
