ATHABASCA – A Calling Lake woman accused of harassing patrons and attempting to steal from a local business has a warrant out for her arrest after failing to appear in court Sept. 5.
According to a Sept. 5 release from Athabasca RCMP Const. Kyle Hotchkiss, police responded to a July 31 incident in the 4800 block of Wood Heights Road, where an unknown woman was inside a business causing a disturbance.
When the RCMP members arrived, they arrested the woman. During interactions with her, RCMP officers say they seized a large machete from her possession at the time of the arrest.
Kelly Gambler, 39, was charged with mischief obstruction, and carrying a concealed weapon. Gambler was initially released from custody following a judicial release hearing and scheduled to appear in Athabasca Court of Justice Sept. 5, but didn’t show for her court appearance. A warrant has been issued for her arrest.
