STRATHMORE — Edwin Parr Composite’s (EPC) Sr. High Boys volleyball team are making a strong run so far in the 2023 3A provincials in Strathmore running Nov. 23-25.

The EPC predators have two wins and one loss under their belts as they move out of the round robin and into playoff matches. The boys secured a win on Thursday afternoon against Holy Rosary High School from Lloydminster, winning in two sets with a final score of 25-18.

In a Thursday evening match, the predators defeated Beaverlodge in three sets, clocking 15 points to Beaverlodge’s nine. EPC’s boys were at it again early Friday morning, and faced off against Peace Wapiti. After a hard-fought two set game, the predators walked away with their first loss of the tournament, with a final set score of 25-20.

The Predators are set to play again at 12:45 p.m. against their regional neighbours, the Barrhead Composite Gryphons. The head-to-head match should prove exciting; EPC defeated the Gryphons to win zone golds Nov. 18, but Barrhead has secured wins against Winston Churchill and Eagle Butte, with a loss against St. Martin de Porres over the course of the tournament.

More to come…
