A former Athabasca resident living in Chilliwack B.C. has been missing since July 13.

Upper Fraser Valley RCMP and Chilliwack Search and Rescue are looking for Ethal (Grace) Baranyk. The 86-year-old was last seen by a caregiver July 13 10:30 a.m. in the 45000-block of Lenora Crescent, Chilliwack, according to an RCMP press release.

Facebook posts and missing posters from searchers say Baranyk has severe dementia.

“Ms. Baranyk answers to the name Grace and may appear to be disoriented or confused,” Cpl. Mike Rail said in the press release. “Police and caregivers are concerned for Grace’s well-being and believe she may be in need of medical attention.”

Rail said during a phone interview that as of 12:10 p.m. July 17, there are no new updates.

“We’re still looking,” Rail said. “We’re very concerned, but we’re still looking. I’m monitoring the calls quite closely.”

Baranyk is described by the RCMP to be 5’4 and 120 pounds with short grey hair, which may still be in rollers. She was last seen wearing a grey sweater, grey vest and navy blue pants. A missing person's poster on Facebook also mentions her having pink glasses.

RCMP are asking that anyone with information on Baranyk’s whereabouts contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
