Get ready for another wet and windy weekend in the Town and Country area — Environment Canada is predicting Athabasca County, the County of Barrhead, and Westlock County will all receive some much-needed precipitation. The weather is expected to be similar across all three areas, but make sure to check out your community below for specifics.
ATHABASCA
Saturday is going to be a cloudy day, with a 30 per cent chance of showers, and periodic rain over the eastern sections of the county. Northwest winds will average around 30 kilometres an hour, gusting up to 50 throughout the day, where the high will be 13 degrees Celsius, and the low will be 4.
Much of the same is expected on Sunday, where periodic rain is expected to cover the area. Environment Canada is expecting a high of seven degrees and a low of plus four.
Monday is going to be another rainy day, with a high of plus nine and a low of plus four. The day will be cloudy and overcast, although the sun may peek out later in the day just in time for everyone to head back to the office.
BARRHEAD
Saturday is going to be cloudy with periodic rain across the region, particularly in the eastern sections. With a high of 13 and a low of four, readers are going to want to dress appropriately, particularly when the wind picks up — wind speeds should peak around 50 km/h.
Sunday is much of the same, with periodic rain and a high of plus seven. The rain will continue overnight into Monday, where the high is expected to be plus nine, with a low of plus four.
WESTLOCK
If you read the weather in Athabasca and Barrhead and noticed any similarities, you can probably guess the weather for Westlock County as well. Saturday is going to be wet and windy, with a 30 per cent chance of rain and wind gusting to 50 km/h. Westlock’s high will also be plus 13, but the low is a full degree lower at plus two.
Rain is expected overnight going into Sunday, where it’ll continue on and off throughout the day. A high of plus seven and a low of plus five means the weather should be consistent throughout the day.
Sunday night will include more rain, meaning Monday morning will be wet and a little chilly. Temperatures are expected to peak at plus 9, before the rain finally stops overnight Monday.
