BARRHEAD – Barrhead Medical Centre has announced that the clinic is extending its hours to offer evening support for minor illness and injuries, follow-up care and walk-ins on select days.
“To help unburden the Emergency unit and better support our community,” said the Barrhead Medical Centre on Facebook on June 26.
The new hours which started on Monday, June 30 are from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This service will be available on designated Mondays when staff is available.
The extended hours will be offered on Monday, July 14 and Monday, July 21 according to Janet Brandon at the Barrhead Medical Centre.
The Barrhead Medical Centre said to use the Emergency services for true emergencies.
Other medical issues can be handled in their office.
Alberta Health Services provides Health Link, a service where you can call and talk to a nurse for free about your health concerns and get some direction on where to seek assistance for your care options.
To reach Health Link call 811 anytime seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
