BREAKING: Highway 33 partly reopened near Swan Hills

Highway 32 south of Swan Hills has reopened while Swan Hills remains evacuated.

Highway 33 north of Swan Hills is closed due to wild fire and smoke on May 27.

BREAKING: Highway 33 and Highway 32 south of Swan Hills are open again.

Highway 33 north of Swan Hills to Highway 2 remains closed.

The 511 Alberta website reports that there is a wildfire on Highway 33 in both directions near Onely Crescent.

The town of Swan Hills was evacuated on May 26 with the notification going out after 6 p.m.

A reception centre is set up in Whitecourt at the Allen and Jean Miller Centre located at 58 Sunset Boulevard. 

The evacuation route out of Swan Hills is Highway 32 southbound or Highway 33 eastbound according to the 511 Alberta website.
