The Prime Minister's Office later provided a breakdown showing more than seven million of the doses being donated are from pharmaceutical firm Novavax, whose vaccine remains in clinical trials and has yet to be approved for use in Canada. 

“It’s very difficult to count all of the people who have died as a direct result of working in Canada,” said Syed Hussan, executive director of the Migrant Workers Alliance for Change, but he believes the numbers are “quite astonishing.” 

Every detail in the contract related to the price paid for dose was deleted before the documents were made public. 

The premier said the lottery will offer three prizes worth $1 million each, as well as other unspecified prizes. 

The province is directing a total of $500,000 to the program. The grants will be for up to $10,000 for everything from security cameras to protection planning, training, and education.
