TORONTO — DaShaun Amos and Royce Metchie are together again on the football field. The two are back starting alongside each other in the Toronto Argonauts' secondary.

OTTAWA — The Ottawa Redblacks and Edmonton Elks enter their CFL Week 7 rematch in very different places. The Redblacks (3-2) are on a high after a comeback 37-34 win in Edmonton on Sunday and have a chance to pick up a third straight win at home.

REGINA — Moral victories have no value for Corey Mace and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The Roughriders were handed their first defeat of the CFL season on July 13, dropping a 35-20 decision to the B.C. Lions in Vancouver. Saskatchewan allowed B.C.

It's certainly been a hectic week for Jarious Jackson. Jackson was named Edmonton's interim head coach Monday after head coach and general manager Chris Jones was fired.

TORONTO — The Toronto Argonauts signed veteran defensive lineman Woody Baron on Wednesday. The six-foot-one, 270-pound American spent the last two seasons with the B.C. Lions.

The innovations and schemes that earned Chris Jones a reputation as a defensive guru didn't translate into success as the Edmonton Elks head coach and general manager. The Elks fired Jones on Monday following an 0-5 start to the season.

TORONTO — Linebacker Wynton McManis of the Toronto Argonauts, Winnipeg receiver Ontaria Wilson and the Blue Bombers’ offensive line were the top selections in the CFL honour roll Tuesday. McManis was the top-rated defensive player with a grade of 90.

EDMONTON — Almondo Sewell is back with the Edmonton Elks. Sewell rejoined the CFL franchise Tuesday as its defensive line coach. He replaces Nate O'Neal, who resigned.

EDMONTON — Close wasn't good enough for the Edmonton Elks, and Chris Jones has paid the price. The decision to fire the Elks' general manager and coach came down to one man: Rick LeLacheur.

EDMONTON — Quarterback Dru Brown completed a couple of long touchdown passes in the second half and Lewis Ward kicked a 38-yard field goal as time expired and the Ottawa Redblacks overcame an early deficit to defeat the Edmonton Elks 37-34 on Sunday.
