COVID 7
A seventh case of COVID-19 was recorded on the province's geospatial tracker Oct. 13, but it's already listed as recovered.

WESTLOCK — A seventh case of COVID-19 has been recorded for the Westlock area.

According to the provincial government’s COVID-19 geospatial tracker, which displayed the newest case today, the latest person to contract the virus has already recovered. No cases are listed as active.

Despite the slight increase in recorded cases, the fact that none area active means the area isn’t actually getting any closer to appearing on an Alberta Health Services watch list. The threshold for the region, which includes the Town of Westlock, Westlock County and the Village of Clyde, is 10 active cases.

Provincially, COVID-19 news is worsening. Over the Thanksgiving long weekend, AHS recorded 961 new cases.

The Edmonton area has 1,444 active cases of the provincial total of 2,165 cases. Hospitalizations due to COVID increased to 97, and 13 people are in ICU. Four people have died since Friday, bringing the COVID death toll in Alberta to 286.
