A virtual town hall will be held by Athabasca RCMP March 2 at 6 p.m. Those who would like to attend are asked to RSVP to [email protected] by 4 p.m. Feb. 28.

ATHABASCA – Have you been affected by crime in the area? What would you like to see as far as future enforcement? Do you have questions or concerns for local RCMP members?

Athabasca RCMP Detachment commander Staff Sgt. Mark Hall is hosting a virtual town hall Wednesday, March 2 starting at 6 p.m. and is inviting members of the communities served by the local detachment to settle in for a discussion regarding policing issues in and around the communities of Athabasca, Calling Lake, Colinton, Perryvale, Rochester, Baptiste Lake and Island Lake, from the comfort of their own homes.

Town Halls are a great way to connect with residents and community leaders to talk about policing priorities and tailor policing service to community needs, said Hall.

“At the beginning of March, we’re holding a virtual town hall that people can log in to and let us know what their feedback is, so we know what’s going on, and can really address those issues,” he told Athabasca town council Feb. 15.

Hall, who started at the Athabasca detachment in September, has had the opportunity to take part in one public meeting organized by the Athabasca Community Opportunities and Protection group in-person since he’s been here and is looking forward to further engagement with the communities he and his members serve.

The town hall will be held virtually Mar. 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. If you would like to attend you are asked to RSVP via email to [email protected] before 4 p.m. on Feb. 28, 2022. If you wish to submit question(s), please send any inquiries along with your RSVP email confirming your attendance.

The link to the town hall will be provided to those that RSVP.
