WESTLOCK — The Associate Medical Clinic in Westlock closed its doors today after a COVID-19 exposure.
In an announcement posted on the clinic’s Facebook page yesterday, staff announced they’ll remain shut for the rest of the week.
“The safety of our patients and staff is of the utmost importance. We greatly appreciate your patience as we navigate through this,” wrote the clinic.
In-person appointments will be rescheduled to the coming weeks, and others will be done over the phone. Those who need urgent prescriptions but don’t have an appointment scheduled can ask their pharmacist for a prescription extension.
Over the weekend, three people tested positive for COVID-19 in the Westlock area, which includes the Town of Westlock, Westlock County and the Village of Clyde. One patient at the Westlock Continuing Care Centre passed away on Friday, marking the first COVID-19 casualty in the area. The facility has been on outbreak since Nov. 16.
