The Westlock Thunderbirds football team put one in the win column last Friday night posting a 34-3 win over the Vegreville Vortex. It was a satisfying win, with the T-Birds coming off a disappointing loss to the Pacers in Athabasca Sept.

The R.F. Staples Thunderbirds senior boys volleyball team brought home a silver medal from a tournament in Camrose last weekend, after losing a tight final match against Bawlf.

It was a day filled with women pushing themselves to their limits, and with their families and community behind them they were able to do so with great success.

The competitive season at the Athabasca Golf and Country Club came to an end last weekend with the club championships. Male and female members of all ages hit the course for one last big event before storing their clubs away until next year.

Both of Edwin Parr Composite School’s senior volleyball teams were in Barrhead over the weekend for a season-opening tournament. Both the boys and girls teams had competitive showings in their first game action of the new season.
