LOS ANGELES (AP) — Ruth Buzzi, who rose to fame as the frumpy and bitter Gladys Ormphby on the groundbreaking sketch comedy series “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In” and made over 200 television appearances during a 45-year career, died Thursday.

Jill Sobule, the award-winning singer-songwriter whose witty and poignant writing first attracted widespread attention with the gay-themed song “I Kissed a Girl,” died in a house fire Thursday. She was 66.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Bob Filner, a 10-term U.S. congressman whose long political career ended abruptly after he was elected mayor of San Diego and driven from office amid sexual misconduct allegations, has died. He was 82.

MIAMI (AP) — Former NBA player Stan Love, the brother of Beach Boys singer Mike Love and the father of Miami Heat player Kevin Love, has died. He was 76. Kevin Love announced his father's death in an Instagram post Sunday night.

Tom Brown, the two-sport star whose interception sealed the 1966 NFL title game for Vince Lombardi's Green Bay Packers, has died. He was 84. Both the Packers and Brown's alma mater the University of Maryland announced his death on Monday.

NEW YORK (AP) — Dick Barnett, a basketball Hall of Famer who played on both New York Knicks NBA championship teams after being part of a historic college powerhouse at Tennessee A&I, has died. He was 88.

NEW YORK (AP) — Drag performer Bianca Castro-Arabejo, who was known as reality television star Jiggly Caliente on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” died Sunday at age 44, days after her family reported hospitalization for a serious infection.

SAO PAULO (AP) — Brazilian striker Jair da Costa, who helped Inter Milan win its first two European Cups in the 1960s, has died in Osasco, outside Sao Paulo. He was 84.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Walt Jocketty, a three-time baseball executive of the year and former general manager for both the St. Louis Cardinals and the Cincinnati Reds, has died. He was 74.
