BETTS, Theresa (Nee: Klem)
October 15, 1933 - July 3, 2022
The family of Theresa Betts of Rochester, Alberta is saddened to announce her passing on July 3, 2022 at the age of 88 years.
She will be remembered by her loving and devoted husband of 71 years, Ken Betts; Sons: Gilbert Betts (Marilyn, who was like a daughter to Theresa) of Rochester, AB and Allan Betts (Doris) of Devon, AB; grandchildren: Colleen Quinlan (Kelly), Crystal Kowalyk (Raymond), Alistair Betts (Jeannine), and Ian Betts; great-grandchildren: Marcus Kowalyk, Ava Quinlan, and Ayden Quinlan; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
She was pre-deceased by her brothers, John and Nick; sisters: Mary, Lena, Sonia, Rose; and her parents: David and Lena.
Theresa was born in Whitford, AB. She attended school in Willingdon, AB before moving to Rochester with her family. This is where she met Ken and they were married in 1951. Soon after their marriage, they were blessed with Gilbert and Allan. Theresa and her family lived in Edmonton for several years, but they eventually returned to the community and farm life they loved in Rochester. They remained on the farm for 46 years prior to moving to Smithfield Lodge in November 2018. Theresa will always be remembered for her 25 years of service as a Secretary at the Rochester School, active involvement in the community, and her amazing gardens, baking, Ukrainian dishes and traditions.
A Memorial Service will be held September 10, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. Private Inurnment to take place at Peaceful Pine Cemetery.
