BORDUZAK, Dennis

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Dennis Borduzak of Vimy, AB. Beloved spouse, father, Gido, brother, neighbor and friend Dennis passed away suddenly at his farm on March 11, 2021.

Dennis will be greatly missed by his loving wife Pat, of 48 years, daughters Stacy (Barry) Rinas, Jaime (Chris) Semple, Sons Curtis (Lori) Borduzak, Kevin (Caroline) Borduzak. One of his truest joys were his grandchildren, Kassi, Kara, and Blain Rinas, Carson and Parker Semple, Blake and Mataya Borduzak, Owen, Jake and Blair Borduzak, his brother Mike Borduzak along with many nephews and nieces.

Dennis was predeceased by his son Dennis Blair Borduzak, his brothers Todd Borduzak, Peter Borduzak, and his parents Peter and Mary Borduzak.

Dennis was born at the Edmonton General Hospital and raised on the family farm in Vimy, Alberta.

Dennis married his wife Pat on November 10th, 1973, and started their family in 1974 raising 5 children on the farm near Vimy. Dennis worked hard to build a farming operation of cattle, hay and grain and always strived to make everything better or stronger. He always had an entrepreneurial spirit and ventured into many businesses as well. Equally important was his drive to ensure the values of education, religion and hard work were instilled in all of his family. Throughout his life Dennis always had his family involved in sports and community activities including hockey, baseball, Ukrainian dancing, ringette and 4-H. Dennis ensured that he would always make time for all his grandkids sporting events and school accomplishments. Honoring the memory of his son, Dennis Blair was also very important to him, “For the Love of the Game” hockey tournament in Legal that continues to run for over 20 years. He also cherished and appreciated the support of the families and communities that supported the event. Dennis acted as a 4-H leader for 25 years, remained active as the President of the St. Marys Ukrainian Catholic Church and was a Director of the Westlock Feeders Association along with many other agriculture organisations. Hunting, fishing, and boating were also enjoyed immensely with family over the years. Dennis enjoyed travel with his wife Pat, and friends to various locations and spending many winters in Arizona or Las Vegas. He loved all his family with his huge heart and took care of all of us with his wisdom, courage and strength. His knowledge and ability to help people with compassion and generosity was admired by all. Farming was truly his passion and he passed away doing what he loved. Dennis will be always loved, never forgotten, and forever missed.

A private family funeral was held at the St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Waugh, AB, burial followed.

The family would like to thank all extended family, neighbours and friends for the drive through funeral procession at the Borduzak Family Farm on Friday, March 19, 2021. To view the service please go to the link https://mediazilla.com/Lxzg1zggW1.
