It is with deep sorrow and much love, that we announce the passing of our mom, Kathleen Joyce Greenfield, of Westlock, Alberta, at the age of 93. Joyce passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 28, 2023.

Joyce is survived by her husband Frank; daughter Carol (Kim) Maertz; sons Jim (Laura) Greenfield and Neil (Sarah) Greenfield; granddaughter Jenna Maertz; grandson Jeff (Alexandra) Maertz; great-grandson Frankie and great-granddaughter Wren; special niece Linda Zabok and her family; nephew Bob McCutcheon; Franks brother Grant (Margot) their son Alan and daughter Suzanne. Throughout her life, Joyce was blessed with many cherished friends and many beloved pets.

Joyce was predeceased by her parents James and Kathleen McCutcheon; brother Ken McCutcheon; sister-in-law Anne McCutcheon.

Joyce was born in Calgary, Alberta on April 2, 1930. As a little girl, she loved animals, dolls, reading and baking with her mom. When she finished high school, she became a teacher and then went on to obtain a degree in Home Economics. While working as a Home Economist in Westlock, she met her future husband, Frank. They were married on November 16, 1957 and settled on the family farm near Westlock. Joyce loved to play the piano, dance, garden and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed family get togethers, socializing with friends and volunteering at the Westlock Library and Pioneer Museum. Joyce had a deep love for the mountains and Jasper, she enjoyed many trips to Europe, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Fairmont. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her beloved grandchildren Jenna and Jeff.

At Joyce’s request, no service will be held. Her family will celebrate her life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to a Charity of One’s Choice. The family wishes to extend a special Thank you to all the staff at the Smithfield Lodge and Westlock Continuing Care, as well as Dr. Chan and Dr. McKoen. Your exceptional care and support will always be remembered.

Mom, Thank you for all your love and support throughout the years. We will miss you so much but we will see you again.
