GUY, Barbara Gaye

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Barbara Gaye Guy announce her passing, on July 18, at her home surrounded by her family and special friends. She was 62 years old. She passed after a long battle with Multiple System Atrophy. Though her health was failing, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her joy for life and courageous spirit kept her pushing through the pain. Gaye enjoyed life on the farm, curling, golfing and spending time with her family and friends.

Gaye is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Brad; son Stewart (Aimee) and their children Brooklynn, Mason, Keegan, and Drew; daughter Janice (Chris); sisters Linda, Anne (Bob), Heather (Mel); brothers Del (Joyce), and Garry, as well as many special nieces and nephews. Gaye was predeceased by her parents, sister Wendy and brother Larry.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mckoen, the Westlock Homecare staff and Faye Rea for their wonderful care and attention to Gaye. A special thank you to Gaye’s sisters and Debbie McCoy and Meagan Mccoy-McLevin for endless comfort and support. We would also like to thank all of her close friends and neighbors for the comfort they gave her. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted to the Parkinson’s Association of Alberta, 11209 -86 St NW, Edmonton, AB, T5B 3H7.

A private family service will be held.
