Colette Anna Hills (née deChamplain)
May 3rd, 1944 – February 16th, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Colette Anna Hills of Fawcett, Alberta announces her passing from this life into the next on February 16th, 2021 at the age of 76 years old.
She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.
She will be dearly missed by her family: Linda (Peter) Dirks, James (Laurie), Karen (Laurier) Charrois, Brenda (Garry) Knobben, and Kevin (Carmen); 16 grandchildren, 7.5 great-grandchildren, and sister Bernice (Roger) St. Martin.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Douglas of 52 years in 2013; brothers; Maurice, Ernest, Norbert, Roland, René deChamplain, and her parents Philippe and Marie-Anne.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private service will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Colette’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada; 110-1525 Carling Avenue, Ottawa, ON K1Z 8R9.
Mass offerings are also welcome at any Catholic Church. The family wishes to send a special thank-you to the staff of the University of Alberta Hospital and the Westlock Hospital for their compassionate care.

In tears we saw you sinking,
We watched you fade away.
You suffered much in silence,
You fought so hard to stay.
You faced your task with courage,
Your spirit did not bend,
And still you kept on fighting.
Until the very end.
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be,
So he put his arms around you
And whispered, “Come with Me.”
So when we saw you sleeping,
So peaceful, free from pain,
We could not wish you back
To suffer that again.
