It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father; Bill on May 25, 2022. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family.

He is survived by his wife; Diane Irene Hodgson (nee Walford), son; Robert William Hodgson (Debbie), daughter; Joanne Anderson (Gregory), and daughter; Janet Hodgson (Jack), eight Grandchildren; Jacquelyn Dawn Gunderson (Dan), William Hendrick Anderson, James Robert Kelly Todd, Keith Duncan Foley, Catherine (Katie) Irene Foley (Tamara), Cheryl Ann Hodgson (Zennan), David Lee Hodgson (Hicari), great-grandchildren; Ben, Kassidy, Josh, Dailyanna, Sienna, Everest, Peyton, Hugh, and Chloe, and one more on the way, as well as many (28) nieces and Nephews.

He was the last of his immediate family, having lost his parents; Tom Hodgson (1970) Catherine Timina Hodgson (nee Miller) 1988, brother; John Ernest (Jack) Hodgson (1993), sister; Dorothy (Dot) May Ryan (2006), sister; Nora Grace Maudie (2010), brother; Bryce Thomas Hodgson (2003), sister; June Victoria Hodgson (1927), sister; Beatrice (Betty) Elinor Kathleen Millman (2020), brother; Laurie James Hodgson (2021), sister; Frances (Fran) Audrey Evelyn (1994), and brother; Ronald Edgar Hodgson (2020). He was also predeceased by his grandson; Gregory Wayne Anderson Jr.(2010) and his daughter; Laura Jeanne Hodgson (2021).

He played with the Edmonton Oil Kings and Edmonton Pats before starting an apprenticeship with Edmonton Telephones where he became an electrical engineer, moving to management after many years on call 24/7. He retired early and after many years of owning a cottage on the lake in Lac St. Anne, he and his wife bought a 65 acre lot and built a permanent home there in 1992.

Special thanks to the staff at Shepherd’s Care Barrhead where he moved in 2022 to be close to his wife and to Barrhead hospital for his care.
